Lynchburg, VA

Me and Andy got to his parent’s place late on Sunday night, and we’ve been having a great time ever since. We’ve worked up sort of a routine for the times we are here – and we look forward to it every time. At night we watch movies, play video games, have a beer or two, and this time playing around with nail polish was added to the schedule (mostly for me, of course). The next morning we sleep in, grab breakfast, and possibly head out for a bit (today Andy got a haircut) before relaxing until about 5 o’clock. Then we have a delicious dinner to look forward to, courtesy of Andy’s mom, before hanging out with his family until the whole process repeats itself.

Okay, it might not sound like the most exciting vacation in the world, but we love it.

Andy also has more family coming over tomorrow to spend Thanksgiving with us. This isn’t a holiday we celebrate in Norway, but I’ve been a big fan ever since I spent my first Thanksgiving with my uncle and aunt five years ago. After all, who doesn’t love good food and spending time with family?

Who are you celebrating Thanksgiving with this year?

  1. A friend of mine from Russia worked here a few years ago, but then moved to Austria for his studies. He emailed me his first Thanksgiving away and he said it was the biggest thing he was going to miss. It’s certainly a fun tradition!
