Outfit Summary: January

I might sound like a broken record by now, but I’m so tired of this weather! I can’t wait until spring comes around and I can wear skirts, shorts, and dresses. The temperatures in January have just been really strange. Some days it’s been warm enough to wear a t-shirt and the next day it’s so cold that you need a jacket, scarf, and hat. I never know what to wear in the morning.

January Wishlist

I know it’s still winter, but my mind is already on spring, summer, and vacations. It has been ever since Christmas was over. I can’t wait for the weather to heat up so that I can go shopping again.

Daylight Outfit Pictures

I decided that I’m going to start taking more laid-back, everyday outfit pictures from no on. Hopefully you’ll enjoy them. There is no reason to only post whenever I’m dressed up to go somewhere, right?
Most days I go for a semi-casual look, but I like feeling a bit dressed up – thus the heels and makeup.
For once I got around to taking the pictures before the sun went down! I like the result so much better.
Tank Top: Gina Tricot. Top: Wet Seal. Jeans: Body Central. Boots: DSW.

A Colorful Mood

Today has been very gray and rainy, and though I’m feeling a bit better, I’m still sniffling and coughing. So, even though I only had a couple errands to run, I felt like doing my makeup and dressing extra colorful just to cheer myself up. And you know what? I actually think it helped. I just finished dinner and I’m relaxing with a couple episodes of Gossip Girl. And I’m feeling pretty great.

I hope you all have an awesome weekend! I think I’m going to take it easy for a few more days.
Scarf: Target. Top: Charlotte Russe. Watch: Michael Kors. Jeans: Macy’s. Boots: Nordstrom Rack.

Casual Thursday

Right when I say that I’m not taking outfit pictures while I’m on vacation, I go and change my mind. It’s nothing fancy, but I figured I shouldn’t wear sweatpants to the mall… And I feel like you can throw on a cute blouse with just about any outfit and automatically upgrade your look. I actually found a light purple on at JC Penny today that would have been perfect for spring, but I forced myself to walk right past it. Maybe later.

I really like the light outside – it’s so bright and sunny you can hardly tell that it’s freezing.
The only thing I’m missing is some more leaves and color. Virginia is so gorgeous during spring/summer!
I almost wouldn’t mind living here myself, hehe. I mean, look at this huge back yard!
Oh well, back to the outfit. It was way too cold to go anywhere without a jacket, so I threw on my huge “Norway jacket” (as Andy calls it), which could keep me warm in the middle of a snow storm.
Blouse: Forever 21. Watch: Michael Kors. Jeans: Pitaya. Boots: Nordstrom Rack.

Black and Blue

I’ve loved wearing colorful bras and tank tops under flowy see-through blouses ever since spring came around, and the cold isn’t stopping me now, hehe. I have a long black coat that goes great with just about any outfit, and it keeps me warm even when I like to dress like it’s still summer. It’s not like I’m planning to spend my entire day outside anyway, so I dress for when I’m inside.
I found this skirt at Forever 21 and fell in love with it instantly! Such a statement piece.
I had almost forgotten that I had these cute booties lying around, but now they’re back in rotation.
I really like the way my eye shadow turned out here. It might be a bit much, but sometimes it’s fun to play around with makeup! I use Too Faced’s Natural Eye Shadow collection just about every day.
Bra Top, Blouse, and Booties: Charlotte Russe. Skirt: Forever 21. Tights: Nordstrom Rack.

A Warm, Blue Night

A simple, comfortable outfit for a fun date night yesterday.
I love this knitted sweater – it’s so soft and warm (as long as it’s not windy at least).
