On The Mend

I think I have actually tricked myself into believing that I can’t gain weight on my birthday, when I’m on vacation, or when I’m sick. At least I eat as though it’s true… So as soon as my taste buds started functioning again I whipped up a big batch of comfort food and curled up with book five of the Mortal Instruments. And I’m already feeling quite a bit better! Tomorrow I should be on my feet again.

Bacon, yellow onion, and corn. Random, delicious, and not exactly low-calorie.

Now I’m catching up on all the blogs I’ve neglected in the past few days. I have no idea how I’ve gotten such a long list of great blogs that I read regularly, but I might make a list of them to share with you. And I always love finding new ones, so feel free to share your favorite ones with me. After all, being sick is pretty boring.

My Favorite Comfort Foods

I’ve been a little under the weather the past couple of days – the second time this month (my immune system is just terrible after my three month long bronchitis last summer). And, I don’t know about you, but when I’m feeling sick or stressed out I snack. It’s not exactly a great idea, but a bag of chips would always keep me focused when I had a big exam to study for, hehe. So here are some of my favorite comfort foods, just so you get some ideas of what not to eat if you want to stay in shape.

Several of these things I can’t (well, shouldn’t) even have in our apartment, because I’ll finish them in one sitting. Especially if I’m sick. It’s impressive, really. Okay, I’m going to go make some Jell-o now.

A Quiet Night

Yesterday was gray and rainy all day yesterday so I spent the whole day reading, watching Gossip Girl, taking an hour long bath, doing my nails, eating salmon dip, and playing Harvest Moon. I don’t think I did a single useful thing, haha. And, unfortunately, I think today might be pretty similar since I woke up with a sore throat and a very stuffy nose. I don’t want this to turn into a full-on cold. So, since tacos are just about the best comfort foo ever, I talked Andy into making some for me.

Or a taco salad that is – the shell is just a handle anyway, right? It was delicious!
